EBay put on a brave face and blamed the economic crisis though one buyer commented that, "there are no longer bargains on eBay due to the increased costs to sellers." Many of eBay acquisitions are also failing to make up the losses other than PayPal who eBay are looking to in the hope of making up the shortfall. Many buyers are unhappy with the fixed price sales and lack of auctions and are going elsewhere, it is estimates that eBay have lost 1.5 million customers due to the changes and driving out the smaller businesses. In the hope of recovering the situation eBay are offering a free listing on all items of 99p or less with an increased commission on sales of 10%. You do not mind being stitched if you are making a profit but eBay appears to go in for mugging the seller.
