Trade

A seller, who will be call Johnny Sneakers in this example, may create an item using the TRADE Format.

This format is useful for individuals that are trading in MARINE IVORY, for example, which is an item that is highly regulated. Federal law prohibits the interstate commerce of such items. However, Trading pieces is allowed. To review the final value fees for a Trade Format Item go to our FEES page.

To set up a Trade, Johnny Sneakers selects: Sell > 'step one' Listing Format > Trade.

In Step 2 Johnny creates the title for his item. But unlike other formats, there are no set prices added and NO Bidding.

(In the item's description, Johnny may opt to include the value of his item, what he is looking to trade for his item, and/or any description text he wants.) Including what he is looking to trade for his item.)

Johnny adds images, and a complete description.

User Sarah Boombots will find Johnny Sneaker's item on AntiqueSpider along with all other listings on our site in all other categories and formats. Or she can refine an 'Advanced Search' to spider through our items for Trades only.

Sarah Boombots finds Johnny's item. She believes deep in her soul that Johnny will want to trade his item for hers. Sarah can send Johnny a message directly from his Trade listing.

In the "My Account" tab under the heading (4) 'Trading', users can can track and review responses / offers, declines, etc. Users may accept or decline trade offers from this control panel.

Users can leave feedback for each other when a transaction is complete.

Johnny pays AntiqueSpider a fixed fee only on a successful trade - no other listing fees. Upgrade listing fees are extra. Sarah pays nothing!

ANOTHER WAY TO USE THE TRADE FORMAT - THE REHASH

If a seller makes a sale for an item, and then through AntiqueSpider's permitted means contacts the buyer and sells them additional items not listed with us, we call this 'The Rehash!' We know that this type of activity happens and there is no way for us to prevent it completely!

Buyers and Sellers who want to use the protective umbrella of this site to complete The Rehash should consider creating an item for that customer using the Trade Format. For this example the item is called Joey The Fish's Big Rehash #1.

The buyer and seller complete the trade with whatever terms and conditions they want. Joey The Fish pays a flat fee of, say, $4.95. Sellers benefit from being able to invoice and track sales through our secure site. Both sellers and buyers can leave feedback and settle disputes through our site.

This is a simple way to track and protect aspects of a sale that indviduals will not have in a stand alone situation. We recommend using this for all rehashes.

Note: Users that find a way to manipulate AntiqueSpider's terms and policies, fees or violate any applicable laws pertaining to the commerce of Marine Ivory, may have their AntiqueSpider account terminated.
